Jess Willa Wheaton is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in New York, NY. Her paintings and collages merge disparate images within complex and fluid spatial wholes, and rely equally upon meaningful coincidence, responsiveness and control. Wheaton is strongly interested in both the pictorial and material qualities of found printed images, as well as their lived history. Each of her works absorbs its components' properties to produce a new fact in the world that is such unlike any other thing in the world. She also makes photo books of observed image synchronicity.

Wheaton holds an MFA from Hunter College, a BFA from the California College of the Arts and a Certificate in Visual Arts from Camosun College. Most recently her work was exhibited in a two-person show at Goodnight Projects, San Francisco, and forthcoming is a group show at Edward Thorp Gallery, New York.
